Dustin Lynn is an American filmmaker, musician and writer, born in 1981 in Oakland, California; raised nomadically in Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Florida, Oregon, and Minnesota.
He is renowned for his internationally acclaimed poetic 16mm documentaries and experimental films produced in some of the most remote regions on the planet. His 10 year collection of 16mm films have been 'Official Selections' of The Tribeca Film Festival, New York Film Festival, and GenArt Film Festival among others, while also being exhibited with Galerie Karsten Greve, Paris, Cologne, St. Moritz.
He studied drama at Harvard University, beginning his film career collaborating with Jack Johnson and the Malloy Brothers on their critically acclaimed surfing film, Thicker than Water, which sent him traveling the globe, surfing, and creative directing for The Moonshine Conspiracy. He then moved into the fine arts with collaborative works on Peter Beard's Hog Ranch in Kenya with artist Fernando Apodaca, as well as with artists Gabriel Orozco, Adam Broomberg, and Oliver Chanarin in the jungles of Ecuador.
Most recently he has contributed to Pia Getty's feature film, Axis of Light, as well as creating the campaigns for the luxury brand Corto Moltedo. In 2012 he has completed a signature film for the iconic fashion brand Alexander McQueen which debuted at Selfridges in London.
He currently lives on the road.
